GOOD DESIGN PRACTICES: PROJECTS (III)
Are you ready for a bunch of advices on good practices for designing furniture in WOODEXPERT? 6 tips to make your work smooth, comfortable and more efficient.
1. To preserve the project structure and improve efficiency, use an appropriate tree structure.
Multi-level design enables effective and efficient work. It also offers more capabilities in terms of data generation.
2. Save the data you created as frequently as possible.
A power outage or an Internet connection failure may cause you to lose your multi-hour work. Save data as often as possible – be aware that in WOODEXPERT you can set the frequency of reminders as required.
3. Try to work on a single model.
Do most of the design work on a model of a piece of furniture to be provided with easier access to components and to reduce workstation load.
4. Check the collisions before generating 2D documentation and bills of materials.
The process collision detection function helps minimise production errors. Before generating the production-related documentation, check the collisions that have occurred and correct the model.
5. Pay attention to material validation.
The material validation function will inform you of possible material errors and geometry.
6. Make sure that the bill of materials sent to the production department is in the correct status.
The bills of materials may be approved or not approved. The appropriate status will allow you and your colleagues to determine which version has been sent to the production department.
