Working in project mode in a distributed structure
If you have more than once faced the problem of sharing data with colleagues while working on classic CAD software, and data created at your workstation had to be re-created at another, WOODEXPERT provides a solution to this problem.
The software is based on an SQL database, which enables large amounts of data to be stored and accessed from any workstation in the organisation. The server is installed from the WOODEXPERT installer or an installer downloaded from our Microsoft partner’s website. We recommend installing the database directly on company servers and only connecting workstations to the server. The oldest server version we support is SQL Server 2014.
The user can connect or change the database in two places:
1. during software installation:
2. from the WOODEXPERT settings:
By saving data to the database, WOODEXPERT introduces a novelty that is not present in standard SOLIDWORKS. This is the ability to create projects on which you can save:
– project information
– information about assigned materials
– material allowances
– appearances.
In addition, independent of the project, the user has the possibility to save the following on the basis:
– settings
– material legends
– material lists
– production reports.
As a result, all information is available from any workstation in the organisation and can be shared between active users. Be sure to check out the possibilities of working in project mode in a distributed structure in WOODEXPERT – test our software for 30 days, free of charge.
