INNOVATIVE FURNITURE FACTORY

The factory 4.0, the factory of the future, the innovative furniture factory – they are not only buzzwords used in publications on industry portals. Primarily they are used to improve the competitiveness of the company by making innovations in the various stages of the production process. What matters – not in the dark and at an instant, but after a healthy analysis of the expected benefits.

IDENTIFY YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS

The need generates solutions – timely order execution, even in the absence of raw materials and forced production downtimes, better work organisation, increased productivity, elimination of losses, improved data flow within the enterprise are the reasons why companies continually seek solutions in the field of digitisation, robotics or automation of processes.

A large number of individual orders to deal with in the short term, decisive in terms of continued cooperation and subsequent contracts, oblige entrepreneurs in the furniture sector, in particular working in smaller woodworking shops, to the willingness to face challenges and race against time.

How can you help yourself with modern technological achievements?

SEARCH FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS

We have already written how to make business growth without sudden burdens on our own budget. The proposals included: EU funding for the implementation of innovation in the furniture industry, utilisation of research and development projects, leasing, loans and credits or smart making use of promotions and rebates available from time to time.

SOFTWARE OF THE FUTURE

Another element of the puzzle is a stable but flexible furniture design and production software. The furniture prototyping process consists of a number of steps: from the designer’s concept, through the analysis of modellers and design engineers, the construction of the first prototype and testing of its quality and strength. It is also necessary to draw up documentation for production purposes. It is important that it is accurate, complete, legible, harmonised within the enterprise and requires a minimum effort from the furniture design engineer. Thanks to WOODEXPERT, you are able to automatically generate 2D documentation, any necessary technical reports, prepare cost estimates and processing for NC machines.

Take a look at ERP and PDM systems that will enable supply chain management, stock management and quality management to take a new dimension.

STATE-OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT RESOURCES

State-of-the-art equipment resources – CNC machines, lathes, grinders, the use of piling machines with automatic feeding of panels from the loading platform and modern production lines supported by industrial robots generate benefits in terms of shortening the duration of individual production stages and simply make the work of a joiner easier.

WOODEXPERT is not our only product. We have not only a wide range of CAD/CAM/PDM/ERP software in our portfolio – we also provide services related to the construction and integration of robotised workstations, programming of industrial robots and precision milling services. In short, we know not only how to create software, but we know the process of production of many disciplines from a purely practical point of view.

QUALIFIED PERSONNEL

Despite progressive automation and robotisation, humans remain at the centre of the processes. Qualified personnel who respect their work and who are familiar with the industry are at a premium. However, where this issue is not well-developed, intuitive software is provided to enable you to perform tasks even with a limited or a beginning team. For WOODEXPERT, it should be noted that its intuitive interface, ease of operation on the library of furniture components or the process collision detection function supports furniture design engineers in their work as much as possible.

If you are interested in improving the qualifications of your team, be aware of training on designing furniture in WOODEXPERT.

FINISHED PRODUCT STORAGE & SAFE TRANSPORT

The detection of process collisions as early at the stage of prototyping furniture is only one way to eliminate time losses and production errors. Another one is to secure the goods properly for storage and transportation. We additionally provided WOODEXPERT with a fairly interesting functionality allowing for the preparation of packages with furniture elements: it is used for precise determination of filling material for each package layer, dimensions and parameters of the box and the number of layers. It is also worth mentioning about automated storage systems which can save really much of the storage area and thus reduce the costs of rental of the warehouse area.

DON’T WORRY ABOUT CHANGES

The dynamic development of companies in the furniture sector is intrinsically linked to investing in innovation. This sometimes requires facing your own concerns and questions. A well recognised process and implementation of changes by a proven company will only bring benefits. Time to grow because only the factory that is not afraid of changes and is actively facing new challenges will become the factory of the future.
