ADAPTATION OF EXISTING MODELS
Companies looking to purchase a new CAD program to help design furniture very often have models developed in standard software. With a view to ensuring a smooth transition for the user, we have added the possibility of adapting the existing models.
Models that you previously prepared not only in SOLIDWORKS, but also in other CAD applications (such as in *.step, *.sat, etc.) can easily be adapted to WOODEXPERT. Apart from adding them to the library of smart or simple components and fittings, you get the possibility to work on them. How does it look in practice?
Any model created, among others, in SOLIDWORKS can be saved to the library, provided with proper parameters and be treated as a new component. Additionally, by inserting a body prepared on a clean SOLIDWORKS, we can start working on it at any time using all functions of WOODEXPERT, such as the generator of drawings and bills of materials.
Another example is to create a library from a specific manufacturer’s directory. Models downloaded from its website (e.g. in *.step format) are easily adapted by WOODEXPERT and are subject to standard rules for the development of new components.
This allows us to work on models that have never been created or even edited in WOODEXPERT and save the time needed to prepare a new library as much as possible.
