Starting a new project in WOODEXPERT
In this article we will see how to start a new project in WOODEXPERT.
While working with WOODEXPERT we utilise dedicated file templates. |
After starting SOLIDWORKS I create a new file. In “WETemplates” tab there are file templates dedicated for WOODEXPERT. I create new projects based on “ASSEMBLY” template.
A new file only contains 3 basic planes intersecting at the coordinate system starting point (xyz).
I define the assembly file as a WOODEXPERT project. |
The tools of WOODEXPERT are divided between the top and the right-side menu. The tools on the top are greyed out. Before we begin modelling, we need to define this file as a WOODEXPERT project and save it on the hard drive. I open the “Create project” tool.
In this window I enter project information. It is useful to assign a tag to the project – a short identification code.
I save the assembly file in a new folder. |
After clicking “Save” I am asked to save the file on hard drive. We recommend creating a single location for all your WOODEXPERT projects (e.g. C:\_PROJECTS) and then saving each project in its own folder.
WOODEXPERT are already active. I can proceed to designing.
In the next article of the series we will discuss designing process in WOODEXPERT.
